How to achieve a royal wedding make-up look

We can’t help but mention Meghan Markle’s make-up at the royal wedding.  It has been described as “refreshingly simple” as well as “natural beauty.”  It completed the whole picture, her makeup, as her gown was timeless, minimal and elegant. Her freckles were on full display, evident under only a hint of blush and the sheerest layer of foundation.  Her natural beauty was enhanced but not exaggerated.  Not for everyone, but if you are naturally beautiful without make up, why not surprise your guests, and mostly your significant other?

If you are getting married outdoors, then it’s imperative that you keep the natural look. Nothing worse than caked make-up in direct sunlight, and these photos you’ll want to keep forever.  Try an overall lighter look by keeping your eyeliner more intense along the outer corner of the eye.  Add a subtle light pink cheek and a soft yet bright pink on your lip.

You know you’re not going to sleep a wink the night before you’re wedding, so plan ahead and ask your makeup artist to experiment with this look at your trial.  To create a well-rested look, apply white liner to your lids and blend until there is just a subtle hint left.  Trace your top lash line with black liner and apply a peach cream blush to your cheeks and lips.

Charcoal grey shades do not define the smokey look, use a jade shadow to create the same effect and use some colour in the mix.  Apply peach blush and a sheer pink or orchid coloured gloss over your lips.

Brown, smokey eyes always creates a dramatic look, use an earth tone palette to build a beautiful, gradated smoky eye.  Complete the look with universally flattering apricot blush and a clear gloss on your lips.

To achieve a monochromatic look, sweep a wash of purplish-pink shadow over your eyelids, and intensify the colour at the outer corner to create a subtle winged effect. Then, line your eyes with black eyeliner, add mascara and blend on a dusty rose coloured blush.  Finish the look by swiping on a matching lipstick to bring the look together.

To achieve a beautiful berry look, subtly line your lids, softly blush cheeks and apply a strong wine coloured lip.

For an ethereal finish, pop a pale pink on your lips as well as lids, then top your eyes with shimmery brown shadow and a bit of a champagne eye colour to the inner “V” corner, and voila, stunning!!
