Tell us about Maeve Styling

At Maeve Styling you enter a creative studio where all your jewellery and accessory needs are met. With designs ranging from vintage to modern and which include a range of hair jewellery, neckpieces, and bracelets; it is a one-stop studio where you will be able to co-ordinate your pieces to achieve your unique look. We make use of the finest components, amongst other things Swarovski crystals, fresh-water and shell pearls, and European silver wire; and make every effort to keep up to date with what is trending. At the same time, we like to create our own unique pieces. All pieces are truly hand-crafted, with love.

How was it born and if so by whom?

Maeve Styling was created by me (Jeanette Abro) 8 years ago. I have a passion for jewellery and started my business at the time when bead shops flourished. The variety was so great that one could spend days going from one shop to another. Today most of those shops no longer exist; however my passion has grown over the years and I love to see women bring out their individuality through their accessories. I have worked closely with my daughter, Chantal Rudman, who is a fashion designer; and we have collaborated to produce a range of jewellery for her brides and other clients. I also created many beautiful pieces for Generations and Isidingo. Working with TV productions provided insight into how to create accessories that work to enhance both the garments and the wearer. Again we emphasize individual styling. Initially, our business was called Wedding Jewels. The name was too generic, so after some brain storming we positioned ourselves as stylists; and thus Maeve Styling was born.

Can you create custom-made pieces?

We enjoy the challenge of creating custom-made pieces, and achieve great satisfaction when our customers receive the pieces they envisioned. It emphasizes our ethos; which is all about individual styling.

Can you do all designs in a variety of metal finishes?

Though silver has traditionally been the most popular wire to use, we have incorporated rose gold into our range.  We can do gold as well and all designs can be done in a variety of metal finishes.

Can I send you images of something I like?

Clients are welcome to send images of something they like and we will endeavour to give them exactly what they are looking for, bearing in mind that our pieces are hand-crafted, and not factory produced.

How long will it take to receive an order?

Depending on how busy we are, we try to deliver within one to two weeks.

What are the payment and delivery options?

An electronic bank transfer is acceptable and a 50% deposit is required on order and balance before delivery. If you reside in Johannesburg you are welcome to collect or we will use the Postnet to Postnet service at R99 up to 2kg parcels, countrywide.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us about Maeve Bespoke Jewellery?

We also have a wide range of beaded items; and have created wedding belts and sashes, garters, children’s jewellery, hand-crafted flowers, and hairpieces. We love to incorporate family heirlooms into our pieces e.g. granny’s brooches into a hairpiece or bracelet.  We have created trending pieces for Bride and Co, but prefer to do individual piece to grow our brand.
